Virginia Marine Science Museum is located in the resort area of Virginia Beach. It features more than 100,000 gallons of aquariums. The museum takes visitors on a journey of water through Virginia. The 50,000 gallon aquarium holds the largest collection of Chesapeake Bay fish in the world. There are touch tanks and plenty of opportunities for hands on learning. They also offer boat trips for whale and dolphin watching (seasonal).
Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a main attraction of the resort area. There are many places to eat and play along the way. It is a great way to enjoy the East Coast Surfing Championship, Boardwalk Art Show, Neptune Boardwalk Festival and many more events. The sandcastle building competition is one of my favorites.
Ocean Breeze Water Park offers 16 waterslides, the 1 million gallon Runaway Bay wave pool, children’s area and many more attractions including food and gifts.
The Hampton Roads Area is rich in museums of all kinds. Visit www.hamptonroads.com for more info.
